FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Natural World Fund is a non-profit dedicated to restoring habitats to protect our wildlife across the UK.

National World Fund was set up by two nature lovers, Edward Jackson and Glenn Howes, who were fed up with worrying declines in our wildlife year after year. Since then, Natural World Fund has grown to include an expert team of scientists and conservationists dedicated to restoring habitats and reversing the biodiversity loss.

We saw the need to fill the gaps and do the restoration work that nobody else wants to do!

When doing restoration works of scale, typically it covers multiple land owners, has complex requirements, and entails bespoke holistic approaches to maximise the biodiversity value of the area.

Unfortunately, many organisations have objectives that are too narrow, or require owning the land, or simply don’t have enough resources. This is where we come in. It doesn’t matter to us who owns the land, only that the right restoration work is done in the right place to benefit the local wildlife most.

Any donation, no matter the size, can make a real positive impact to British nature and our restoration efforts.

As a supporter, your funds will go directly towards restoring land and creating havens for nature throughout our country. We will provide you with regular updates to each project and invite you to come down and see the great work you are funding.

Yes, we are a non-profit community interest company where donations are legally protected to only go towards the cause of protecting our wildlife through habitat restoration.

Your money will go directly towards the habitat restoration process. A minimum of 80% of your donation is guaranteed to go directly to restoring land, with up to 20% assisting with day-to-day operating costs. No one at Natural World Fund has been paid a penny for the work they have done.

Yes, we are restoring unproductive farmland in Cumbria with habitat corridors, woodland creation, and species rich hedges to enhance local biodiversity.

No, we don’t. Unlike many other rewilding and tree-planting organisations, we have not paid ourselves a penny so that we could commit as much as possible towards restoring nature.

Trees are just one aspect of habitat restoration. However, British nature thrives best when there are mosaic habitats including forests, meadows and wetlands. Focusing on native species, our approach will always be tailored to the needs of the local area and its wildlife.

While nature restoration does offset carbon, we are not a carbon offsetting organisation as such. Carbon offsetting companies generally focus on how to absorb the most carbon – not what is actually most beneficial for our wildlife. We believe in nature restoration to help our struggling wildlife, and the carbon captured is a fantastic side effect.

Our experts will coordinate the land management together with land owners.

The land will be protected with landowner agreements and conservation covenants.

You can help by sharing our cause with your friends and family so that together we can restore even more land.
