volunteer tree planting day in Gilsland, Cumbria

Tree planting in Gilsland, Brampton, on Saturday 18th January 2025.

Come and help us as we continue our mission to restore nature by planting 2,000 trees along a series of gullies for the benefit of wildlife.

It will be a fun day of volunteers from local communities coming together to restore the land on the Northumberland-Cumbria border.

When we say local volunteers from local communities, we mean people from like you!

We hope you can come along, and if you can then why not ask a friend too. It’s wonderful to connect to the landscape in this way, and the many like-minded people helping our local wildlife.

We will plant a variety of native trees including Willow, Alder, Hawthorn, Rowan, Aspen and Birch.

The planting area is less than quarter of a mile walk through farmland, up onto moorland, where we will be planting the trees along a series of gullies.

Everyone is welcome to participate, although there are some access limitations, if you have questions about this do get in touch.

We’ll provide all the tools and guidance, please bring your own gloves if you have them along with a packed lunch and hot drink. Wear sturdy boots and appropriate clothing.
