community volunteer tree planting day

Community Volunteer Tree planting – Saturday 1st February 2025 – in Gilsland, Brampton, on the Cumbria Northumberland border!

Come and join us for another wonderful day of community tree planting, where we will be planting hundreds of native trees to help the local environment and wildlife.

You will meet some great people, and we will be starting the day with a talk from one of the UK’s foremost ‘reintroduction’ practitioners.

REGISTER FREE HERE

We will then spend the day planting native broadleaf trees using sheeps’ wool mulch mats, and finish up gathered around a fire-pit in the barn and a hot drink.

Everyone is welcome to participate, although there are some access limitations, if you have questions about this do get in touch.

This event is in partnership with Living Woods, a not-for-profit supporting and developing holistic land use projects.

Spades, instruction, supervision and fist aid cover will be provided; please wear sturdy footwear (it can be wet underfoot in places) and lots of warm clothes.

Please bring your own lunch and drinks – the hot drink at the end will be provided. We have a portable toilet at the site.

Contact volunteering@living-woods.org.uk if you have any questions.

Thank you!
